Guidelines for handling wigs

We have a large selection of wigs, with many different colors and models.

When you take the wig out of its packaging, shake it thoroughly. Don't worry if some hair fibers drop from the wig. Wigs may have them after the manufacturing but they will not become bald. If possible let the wig hang open for example in a wall hook a couple of days. This helps the wig get it's form (after the packaging). You may also brush the wig surface lightly with a soft brush.
When you want to form the wig, a good rule of thumb is sewing. You can attach hair fibers to the net with a few stitches (with the help of the needle and thread). And you can make the wig smaller by sewing some intakes in the neckpart of the wig. Do not use hot irons with wigs, it will damage the hair fiber.
It's easy to remove fiber ribbon from the Chinese wigs, which are sewn in layers, in case you want more hair into your own hair (attaching with bobby pins).
Dyeing is generally not possible, because most of the fibers are "resistant" to dyes. However, there are lots of colors. If you are looking for something specific, ask for more information.

Washing of wigs:
If you want to wash the wig, please don't do it until you must. Washing wears out the wig fiber. Air the wig to freshen it up.
Wash the wig in the water with a small amount of mild detergent. Rinse it in the water and add lots of fabric softener to the last rinsing water, so that the wig don't be electric. Let the wig fully dry on a clothesline and brush with a soft brush or comb only when the wig is totally dry. If the wig is electric after brushing, you can add a little pure fabric softener to your hands and smooth surface of the wig back to normal.

How to wear wigs?
Set your own hair as evenly as possible along the head with the help of bobby pins, pigtails, a hair sock or a piece of a pantyhose. Take a firm grip of the neck of the wig net, lean over and pull the net on your head down to the bottom, as deep as possible, even over the ears. Stand up and lift at the same time the wig hair away from the face. Place the wig to the right place in front of a mirror, pay attention to following factors:
- The hair does not grow from eyebrows, so push the front edge of the wig net to your hairline.
- The hair fringe is quite long in some wigs, so that also persons with a high forehead can wear them. If the hair fringe is too long for you, cut it shorter, milligram at a time.
- The parting is sewn into place, so you can not change its place. If you want that the parting is in other place you need to rotate the hole wig.
- Finally, take the ears out of the wig; if the wig doesn't feel firm enough, use some bobby pins or wig pins for attaching it better or sew some intakes to the wig net (see the text above on this page).

 

Tips and hints for creating hairstyles in wigs

With a bit imagination you can create in wigs a variety of stunning hairstyles. Here are a couple of examples, but also from other wigs you can do all sorts of creations for example when you don't have time to curl your own hair or your hair is too short.

 How to make a bun from a long wig:
1. Tie your own hair into a ponytail. You can tease a bit, if you want, so that the "base" is bigger.
2. Place the wig on top of the ponytail and attach its edges with bobby pins to the ponytail. Use plenty of pins, so that the wig will remain in place.
3. When the wig is well attached, turn the wig hair a couple of times around the pony tail and attach it with pins to the ponytail. Be sure to hide the pins that they don't remain visible.
4. If you want a wild and messy hairstyle you can take a little bit of hair here and there out of the bun and for example tease them up. The hint: you should rather tease only your own hair than a wig, because it's harder to comb open the wig than your own hair.
5. And here you are: a beautiful bun! And quickly done!

 

 

How to use a curly wig as a long hairpiece and an "additional" ponytail:
1. Tie your own hair into a ponytail. You can tease a bit, if you want, so that the "base" is bigger.
2. Place the wig on top of the ponytail and attach its edges with bobby pins to the ponytail. Be sure to hide the pins that they don't remain visible.
3. The result is a long, beautiful ponytail with angel curls.
